1: THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN BARBADOS

The General Assembly establishes policies for the cooperative work of the church, elects and ratifies members to subordinate boards, committees, associations, agencies and units, and adopts a budget for the church's united ministries. It is the most representative decision-making body of the Church of God in Barbados and is composed of the following persons who are present at any authorized meeting of the Assembly.

MEMBERSHIP
i. Ordained Ministers – Ordained Ministers of the Church of God in good and regular standing.
ii. Unordained Ministers, Unordained Pastors or Associate Pastors of the Church of God in good and regular standing.
iii. Laypersons – Laypersons who are elected as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of a Subordinate Board or Committee of the Assembly or Associations of the Assembly, and missionaries who are commissioned by the General Assembly of the Church of God.
iv. Local Congregation, lay representatives based on membership that is to say two (2) for the first fifty (50) members or fraction thereof and one (1) for each additional fifty (50) members or fraction thereof thereafter.

VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATION
This Assembly shall be regarded as a voluntary association but shall exercise ecclesiastical jurisdiction or authority over the Church of God in general and over individual congregations in particular and shall, retain the right of a voluntary association to define its own membership and to declare, on occasion, when individual ministers or congregations are not recognized by the Assembly as adhering to the general reformation principles to which the Assembly itself is committed.

OFFICERS
The Officers of the General Assembly shall be the Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman, 2nd Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and two (2) Co-Treasurers.

At the Annual General Meeting in January, the members of the General Assembly shall elect from their number, a Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman and 2nd Vice Chairman. The other officers shall be selected by the Executive Council from the membership of the Church of God in Barbados who are in good and regular standing and ratified by the General Assembly at its next meeting following the selection.
